Our ladies only club, provides a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere where you can commit to an ongoing fitness program and achieve results. Busy women find they are able to squeeze in the workout in gaps in their schedule, while women who have never exercised before enjoy the fact that the workout is self-paced and adjusts automatically to their fitness level.
Instructors are on hand to encourage, motivate and support our ladies in sticking to their plans and achieving fantastic results.
The Curves circuit is a system of exercise that alternates hydraulic resistance machines with aerobic recovery stations; and because you are moving fluid rather than weights, it’s safe for all ages.
In addition, strength training is proven in helping to combat arthritis and osteoporosis because lean muscle helps the integrity of our joints, while resistance training increases bone density. And add to all those health benefits, that you can burn up to 500 calories in one session, it is no wonder women find it a great way to tone up and feel great.
Q. How is Curves different to other gyms?
A. It is solely for women. Members get lots of support from the staff and are regularly monitored. The workout achieves results that can be sustained by exercising for just 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week.
Q. Is there an age limit at Curves?
A. Definitely not. Some mothers bring their teenage daughters and some daughters come with their mothers who are in the 70's.
Q. Do you need to be fit before you join Curves?
A. No. Many of their members have never been in a gym before. The workout is designed so that people can exercise to their own optimum level. Also women with diabetes, arthritis and osteoporosis can really benefit from it.
Q. Do you have to workout at set class times?
A. No. There are no set class times you come and go as you like so you can fit your workout into your lifestyle.
Q. Do new members find Curves daunting the first time?
A. No, not at all. Curves is welcoming. As soon as you walk in they make you to feel right at home. It’s fun too. In fact, members say that the 30 minutes fly by because they’re having such a good time - partly because there’s No Men, No Mirrors and No Makeup.

A. They reduce dress sizes, help you lose weight, firm and tone your body and generally make you feel good about yourself both physically and mentally – which is a good thing.
